People living in poverty have to make difficult choices about spending their money on everyday items that many of us take for granted. People who are hygiene poor, regularly go without the products they need to allow them to look presentable, wear clean clothes and keep their home environment clean and hygienic.

Many organisations in our network support people in crisis who may be fleeing abuse, and are uprooted from their communities.

Within two hours of getting this request we were able to provide, not just nappies, but an entire range of hygiene and personal care products for this young mum and her baby. Everything from barrier cream, wipes and baby wash to deodorant, shampoo, face wipes and laundry detergent. Later the same day we received this follow up email:

Client:” Thank you sooooooooooo much for the stuff you have given me. I can’t thank you enough. It really helped me out and took a lot of stress of my shoulders.”

DAVSS Support Worker: “This has been the best and quickest response I ever had to an SOS !!! Thank you so much.”

We can only respond like this because of the generous donations we receive and the hard work and commitment of our volunteers.
