Lizzy Hall, Founder, The Hygiene Bank said: “Those who don’t have the means to access household and personal hygiene products can be held back from fully participating and contributing to society. It can be demoralising not to be able to keep yourself and your home clean when needed. Hygiene poverty can negatively affect personal esteem and self-confidence. It can leave those of us in need feeling isolated, excluded, shamed, bullied, humiliated potentially leading to poor mental health. We stand alongside those in crisis. Our purpose is to ensure no one is held back from participating in society because of hygiene poverty.”
We are delighted to have been selected as a charity partner for The Clean & Tidy Home Show. Throughout December all proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to The Hygiene Bank to enable us to continue to support those of us in the UK living in hygiene poverty.
The Clean & Tidy Home Show believes there is no shame in asking for help or sharing a problem. They are committed to supporting our community no matter their experience or approach to homemaking.
The Clean & Tidy Home Show and its community are for all homemakers, no matter their budget, time or other constraints. You are welcome whether you clean your own home, or you employ help. Whether you have a decluttered space or need support in organising your home. Whether you know a lot about keeping your home clean and tidy or have much to learn. Whether you rent a small studio flat or own a large house.
You and your home deserve to shine.
The mission of the Shine not Shame campaign is to encourage those who need it to ask for help and those who can help to offer support with no judgment or stigma. We celebrate the evolving nature of a home – if you live in it, it can’t always be perfect and that is OK!

About The Clean & Tidy Home Show
Taking place at ExCeL, London on 8th & 9th October 2022, the Clean & Tidy Home Show is an inclusive and accessible alternative to existing events where home owning and interior design take precedence.
If you’re looking for the latest cleaning hacks, preparing for your first baby, planning a full-home declutter, hoping to organise a chaotic garage, wanting a day out, or considering becoming a home organiser yourself, this show has it all.
More than a 2-day event, the Clean & Tidy Home Show is a network of cleanfluencers and organising aficionados who find genuine joy and wellness as a result of keeping their homes clean, clutter-free, while sharing knowledge and advice. Learn more about recycling and upcycling, how to sell, donate and swap unwanted items, how to shop and live more ethically and feel better.
The show is centred around some important values, which include sharing, collaboration, and support. Not about shame or creating unreachable goals, the Clean & Tidy Home Show team believe that learning to make the most of what you have and feeling connected to your community are fundamental to our wellbeing.
